Install Media Codecsįor legal reasons Ubuntu can’t provide certain music and film codecs ‘out of the box’. The Software Updater app will then check for any fixes and upgrades, and prompt you to install any that are waiting. Open the Dash (by clicking the button at the top of the screen) and search for ‘Software Updater’. Typically Ubuntu will automatically check for new updates every few days but as this is ‘day one’ for you we’ll need to do this manually.
